Persian translation of a book titled “De-westernizing Film Studies” has been revealed at the 35 edition of Fajr int’l Filmfest in Iran.
The translated work is based on a title published by Routledge in 2012. The project was supported by Fajr Film Festival with a group of Iranian translators rendering the title.
At the unveiling, current president of the prestigious Iranian Academy of Sciences as well as head of Persian Studies and Senior Lecturer in Persian and Film Studies at the University of Edinburgh, Nacim Pak Shiraz, will be in attendance, among other figures.
Saër Maty Bâ and Will Higbee have edited the book which documents the continuing struggle between Western ideological dominance and alternative international filmmaking.
The 35th Fajr International Film Festival takes place in Tehran from April 21-28.
